Hempel's Dura Satin Varnish: The Quick-Drying, Durable Finish for Wood
Hempel's Dura Satin Varnish is a quick-drying urethane alkyd varnish that provides a durable, silk-gloss finish. Its good resistance to seawater, sunlight, and adverse weather conditions makes it an ideal choice for both interior and exterior wood surfaces above the waterline.

Application Information
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants.
- New build: Sand and remove all dust.
- New wood: Saturate the dry, clean surface with a suitable wood treatment, allow to dry.
- Plywood: Seal the dry, clean surface with a suitable wood sealer.
- Teak: Degrease the surface thoroughly with a suitable degreaser. The surface must be dry and clean prior to application.
- Moisture content of the wood must be below 16%.
- Maintenance and Repair: Abrade, clean and dry the surface.
- Previously damaged varnished wood: Wood treatment may be necessary.
- Thinner: Use Hempel's Thinner 811.
- Application Method: Apply by brush or paint pad.
- Film Thickness: For best performance, avoid excessive film thickness.
- Application Conditions: Apply on a clean and dry surface with a temperature that is at least 3°C above the dew point.
- Drying and Overcoating: For best results, follow the recommended drying times and overcoating intervals.
