Hempel's High Protect II Epoxy Primer: The Ultimate Shield Against Osmosis

Hempel's High Protect II is a two-component, solvent-free epoxy primer that provides superior protection against osmosis. This high-build coating forms a hard, tough, and water-resistant barrier, effectively preventing and repairing osmotic blistering on fibreglass and steel hulls. Its ease of application and good tolerance to environmental conditions make it a reliable choice for boat owners seeking the ultimate defence against osmosis.

Key Features

  • Osmosis Protection: Forms a strong barrier against water ingress, preventing and repairing osmotic blisters.
  • Solvent-Free Formula: Environmentally friendly with ultra-low VOC content.
  • High-Build Properties: Fills minor imperfections and creates a smooth surface for subsequent coatings.
  • Easy Application: Can be applied by brush or roller with good tolerance to varying environmental conditions.
  • Versatile Use: Suitable for both new builds and maintenance/repair on fibreglass and steel hulls.

Application Information

  • Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. For new or uncoated surfaces, sand and remove all dust. For steel, remove salt and contaminants with fresh water cleaning and abrasive blasting or power tool cleaning to remove rust and loose material. For previously coated surfaces, abrade, clean, and dry the surface.
  • Priming: Not applicable, as this product is a primer.
  • Mixing Ratio: Mix Base 35789 and Curing Agent 95078 in a 3:2 ratio by volume. Stir the base thoroughly, add the curing agent, and mix well.
  • Application Methods: Apply using a brush or roller.
