Hempel's Sealer 599: The Penetrating Epoxy Sealer for Porous Substrates

Hempel's Sealer 599 is a two-component, low-viscosity epoxy sealer that provides excellent penetration and sealing properties for porous substrates. This versatile sealer is ideal for use on wood and plywood, as well as for saturating fibreglass laminate where the gelcoat has been removed. It can be used for both interior and exterior applications, above and below the waterline, making it a valuable tool for various marine projects.

Application Information

  • Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. For new wood and plywood, ensure a moisture content below 16%. For fibreglass, ensure any absorbed moisture has evaporated before application.
  • Priming: Not applicable, as this product is a primer.
  • Mixing Ratio: Mix Base 05999 and Curing Agent 95040 in a 4:1 ratio by volume. Stir the base thoroughly, add the curing agent, and mix well.
  • Application Methods: Apply using a brush.
  • Conditions: Apply when the surface temperature is at least 10°C. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.
